AKwan’s Kitchen: How To Make Ma Po Tofu

It’s Boyd’s turn to try to take over AKwan’s Kitchen this week–keyword here is “TRY.” Let’s see how he fares in making Ma Po Tofu.

– ground pork
– tofu, silken
– chili garlic sauce
– bean paste sauce
– rice cooking wine
– chives, minced
– ginger, minced
– garlic, minced
– chicken broth
– corn starch

1.) Put ginger and garlic in a heated, oiled pan.
2.) Brown for a bit and then add ground pork.
3.) Cook pork when it’s barely no longer translucent.
4.) Add approximately 1 tbsp bean paste sauce, 2 tbsp chili garlic sauce (or to your tastes), and a splash of some rice cooking wine. Mix well.
5.) Pour some pre-made chicken broth into pan and then add the tofu in. Stir gently.
6.) Close the cover and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
7.) Next, add the chives in and mix.
8.) Lastly, add some corn starch+water mixture into pan to thicken sauce.
9.) Let it heat for some more and then you will be to enjoy your homemade ma po tofu! Mmm nom nom nom!
