January Monthly Challenge: “White Snow” @ 01/26/11

Vignetting [Vin-Yet-ting] – is where the center of the photo is clear, but the sides are darker. The reason for using this effect is to intentionally create a central focal point for our audience. After the break, I will show you how to create this effect in Photoshop CS4.

Photoshop CS4: Vignetting

1. Create a new empty layer. (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N)
2. Fill that empty layer with white (Shift + F5)
3. Set Blend Mode to Multiply
4. Go to Filter, Distort, and select Lens Correction…
5. Just play around with the sliders on Amount and Midpoint.
