Click Click! 022: The August Moon (Part I)

"On the Fence" F5.6 | 1/15 | ISO 3200

Every Wednesday of the week, I’ll share with you my moments of Photography in this Blog: “Click Click!”
-Just a simple guy with a camera

This may be my last time to shoot a subject that is dependent on mother nature.  I’ve been on the look-out for about two weeks looking for the shiny moon in the sky.  The moon loves to play hide and seek. And it surely loves to sleep in the cloud or on rainy days.  While I have a photo of a hanging moon, the submissions I’ve got were well vastly different from each and every one. I guess the moon can have many faces. Check this out after the break…

As I disclosed this week’s photo challenge, it also happens to be near the one of the most important festivals in my proud Chinese heritage:  Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, and it is held on 09/22/10. Generally, during this festival, family members will get together and eat moon cakes together (a 4 inch square/round cake filled usually 1 egg yolk and lotus paste).

Next time’s photo challenge (for me) is to capture “my moon cake“, but feel free to make your own moon cake discovery.

Last, thank you again for your photo submissions, and many of them were great. If you have any questions or tips or like this article, please email me at Happy Clicking!

BLAW's submission: Simple, elegant, and perfect for Mid-Autumn Festival or the howling wolf.

BAM! Let me give you a complete different contrast of the moon.

LEGNA's submission: A calm, breezy night. Indeed a beautiful scene.
