Another new A/V cable standard….sigh~~~

Dudes, just when you finally get the whole idea of HDMI and HDMI 1.3, they announced a new standard. HDMI will no longer be the new cool thing. The new standard uses CAT5E cables, another name for it, network cables.

You can read more about it here…

Heh… for some reason, when I look at the title of this article, a different kind of “A/V” comes to mind… lol

hahaha…..all cat5’s are the same, Anon is right, don’t fall for the “Monster” cat5.

I think this is a good thing. I guess the problem would be why didn’t they do this before? Atleast its Cat5 which most people already own the cables. Just don’t fall for “Monster” cat5 cables.

but if you have network cable snaked all over already, you should be all set I think

Interesting. The plus side is that the cables are cheap, have a small connection and flexible for easy routing in cabinets and walls. It’ll be 3+ years before you can route your whole AV setup with it.
