“AKwan’s Kitchen” – Episode 4: Sangria

Memorial Day is just around the corner, which means summer is almost here. In this episode, AKwan teaches you how to make the cool and refreshing summertime cocktail of sangria. Recipe and video after the jump.

Ingredients:
– fruits (oranges, apples, strawberries, or whatever is in season at the moment; all washed thoroughly and sliced)
– bottle of wine (red or white can be used)
– Brandy [optional; quantity added depends on tastes]
– granulated sugar (can be boiled and dissolved into water beforehand)

1.) Pour full bottle of wine into jar/pitcher.
2.) Put fruits into wine, trying to squeeze the juice out of some of the fruits in the process.
3.) Pour in Brandy, if desired.
4.) Put in sugar or sugar water.
5.) Stir well.
6.) Cover and refrigerate for at least a few hours. What is most ideal is to store overnight, so all the juices in the fruits start to “marinate” the wine, giving it more full flavor.

And then the next day you can take it out of the fridge and go and enjoy your yummy sangria on a hot summer day. Nom nom nom!
