“AKwan’s Kitchen” – Episode 2: Spaghetti and meatballs

In this episode, you may think you know how to cook the very simple dish of spaghetti and meatballs but watch here and find out how AKwan teaches you how to make it. Recipe and video after the jump.

Ingredients (serves 4):
– box of spaghetti
– jar of tomato sauce
– bag of meatballs (can be fresh or frozen)
– salt

1.) Boil 3-5 quarts of water.
2.) When water is boiled, put in dry spaghetti. Put in a little salt for flavor.
3.) Let water boil for about 9 minutes (for al dente pasta).
4.) In the meantime, pour tomato sauce and put meatballs into a saucepan. Cover. Bring to a boil.
5.) Stir spaghetti and sauce occasionally to prevent from sticking.
6.) After 9 minutes, drain spaghetti well in a colander.
7.) After sauce has been boiling for a few minutes, voila! You’re done!

Now go and enjoy your yummy spaghetti and meatballs. Nom nom nom!

    Very entertaining…. I cannot believe I sat through the whole 5+ minutes of it even though I can cook a better spaghetti with meatball.. hahhaah

    I think the salt part from Anon is right, BUT I also think it adds some flavor too….. I put salt when I make my pasta…..and like rkwan, I put oil in too……

    I think the reason for salt is not the flavor, but it actually raises the boiling temperature of water. Again, I could have pulled this out of my ass.

    Good Job, and looking forward to the next one. I suppose i can cook Spaghetti now too. What I didn’t know is you put salt into it? I put a little bit oil so it makes it smoother. My mother taught me that. =p
