Total Randomness: Facebook- are you addicted to it?

I am a facebooker.  I have to go on to facebook ten thousnand times a day.   First thing I do in the morning when i get to work is to check my facebook, see if anyone post anything that I can make a comment on.  Then I’ll check my inbox on facebook (my friends actually send me mails on facebook instead of a real email), and reply to them.  Then I will try to think of something to post, like “TGIF”, “I hate Mondays”, “I don’t want to be at work” etc… these posts usually generate lots of comments from my friend who feels the same all over the world.

I used to write Xanga (kinda like Myspace type of online blog, but mostly Asian users), but didn’t keep up with it because I felt like I have to write a lot in order for it to be a “blog”.  On the other hand, I like facebook, because it’s short and easy.  You can just write a sentence, or even a word on ur status update.  Plus, you can find long lost friends through your other friends.  It has such a large social network that I actually found friends that I went to grade school with and be able to reconnect with them.  Friends in other countries? No problem, Facebook shortern the distance of people and give you instant update of your friends, just like their motto promises “Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.”

I think Facebook becomes a form of entertainments for me.  I don’t know about you guys, but I am pretty addicted to it.

By the way, did you check your facebook before reading this post?

To anonymous #2: I believe there is a setting on facebook allows u to block people from seeing your update.

    Hi “Boyd, the single guy”,

Haha. Legna got a point there — you share only what you want people to know.

Facebook does re-define how we share information. And it’s greatest tool: people who we know. However, some information is just too personal, therefore I don’t use facebook on a daily basis.

  • Legna

U don’t have to share too personal stuffs. Plus if I would introduce a girl to u but she lives out if the country, then at least you can get to know her through facebook first :p

Facebook is good, but I haven’t really check it ever since I feel like I am sharing my life on Facebook. I don’t want people to go to Facebook and find out about me thru a website. I want them to meet me in person. Call me in person…….but thats just me.
